  1. Boxing Gloves

It wouldn’t exactly be a boxing class without boxing gloves and the hand wraps to protect your knuckles and wrists. Not sure what size or type of gloves to get?   1. Breathable Workout Clothes

Since you’ll be wearing boxing gloves for most of the training class, adjusting your clothes can be a little tricky. Whether you’re punching, jumping, or lunging, wear workout clothes that are comfortable to move around in and breathable because you will sweat. A lot. 

  1. Supportive Sneakers

During your first boxing class, you’ll come to find that boxing is more than just a hand’s on fitness activity. It’s actually a full body workout! With that being said, you’ll be on your feet a majority of the time so you will need a good pair of training shoes that offer that extra support. You and your feet will thank us later. 

  1. Hydration 

As we mentioned, boxing is a full body workout that hones in on your athletic skills including strength, speed, agility, hand-eye coordination, endurance, and power. To replenish after your workout, bring plenty of water! You will definitely need it. 

  1. A Strong Mindset

It’s completely normal and even expected to feel overwhelmed at your first boxing class as with any training session. What’s important is how you handle that feeling. Stepping into our studio at FA Boxing with a strong mindset will give you the right motivation to keep going and strengthen your fitness skills. After all, even if you don’t take on every boxing move on your first day, you will still feel like you kicked some major accomplishments.
